Mutton Pulao

Mutton Pulao is a dish fairly common in North Indian and Pakistani cuisine that incorporates mutton into a rice pilaf. The rice used is almost invariably Basmati or a close variant. The flavor of mutton and basmathi rice gives this dish a heavenly taste. More than everything this is an easy One Pot Meal... which makes the dish an easy cooking one.

Ingredients

Mutton 500 gms (cut into bite size pieces)
Basmati rice 2 cups (soaked for minimum of 1 hour)
Onions 1 large (chopped)
Ginger Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Green chilis 6 for 1 cup rice
Curd 1 cup
Mint & Corriander leaves 1 cup
Dhaniya powder 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Whole Garam Masala
Oil 3 tbsp
Water 1 1/2 cup for 1 cup rice

Method:

Add oil in a pan or pressure cooker and add oil and fry the whole garam masala in it for few mins.

Add chopped onions and fry till the onions are translucent.

Once translucent add the ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes and nice aroma comes.

Now add the chillies according to the amount of rice using. 6 chilies for 1 cup rice.

Add the mutton pieces and fry for around 10 mins.

Now add the mint n corriander leaves and fry for a minute.

Then add the dhaniya(corriander) powder.

Add 1 cup of curd and mix well, then cover and cook till the meat is 3/4th done.

Once the meat is done till 3/4th switch off the heat if transferring to electric rice cooker.

I used electric cooker so i transferred it to the electric cooker and added pre soaked rice and required amount of water.
If ur using regular pressure cooker continue with it and add rice n water to it.

If using pressure cooker, cook it for 3 whistles on high and simmer for 5 - 10 mins.
Remove the lid and fluff it up with a fork...

Serve hot with a salad and enjoy...
