Curry Leaves Powder For Rice & Idli

Nowadays 99% of all are facing the hair fall problem... but if we observe the food pattern that has been changes vastly from the previous generation we will be able to understand that is the main reason for all type of health problems that we are having today.

Our grand parents used to prepare food in such a care and not only that they even have few recipes that will be a cure for few small illness like fever, headache, body pain etc...

I remember that my great granny was 98 years old when she expired and i have never seen her take any sort of medicines. If she has fever the only thing she used to do is make some hot hot rasam and a dal chutney with lots of garlic and pepper as a side dish, she eats that for dinner and the next day she will be fit and fine as usual.

That is the power of food, I very much believe the words "what we eat today makes our tomorrow".
After me coming to Qatar i have started to have this hair fall prob as a major issue. not only that i hear a lot about this in the recent days from most of my friends circle... i basically am a clean eater in the sense i dont pick the curry leaves from the dish and leave it aside, even though i consume i have this prob. so thought of making the curry leaves powder and every day i am consuming 2 tbsp of it with just a spoon of rice and a drop of ghee.

The powder is so flavor filled and aromatic and tasty too... Thought of sharing this recipe with everyone as it will be very useful for all hair losers... not only curry leaves but the other main ingredient in this recipe is urad dal which is believed to be nutritious and helps for the strengthening of the back and spine for the female...

Sharing is caring...

Lets stop shedding... LOL

Ingredients:

Curry leaves 1 - 2 cups (the more the better)
Urad dal 1/2 cup
Red chilli 8 - 10 (adjust to taste)
Coconut grated 1/4 cup
Asafoetida/ Hing 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

Dry roast the *curry leaves, urad dal, red chilli and coconut gratings separately in a pan and let them cool.
*I prefer roasting the curry leaves in the microwave is much easier, Spread the leaves in the plate and microwave on high for 1 min 30 secs, wait till they cool to become crisp or microwave for another 30 secs.*

After all the ingredients are cooled, grind the curry leaves, red chilli, coconut gratings, hing and salt to a fine powder.

Now add the urad dal and grind it till coarsely powdered. Store in a airtight container.

Serve with ghee and steamed rice or idli/dosa.
