Baked Cheesy Bread Balls

A well known snack is Aloo Bonda or Batata Vada. Many of us would have tasted it. 

Today am here with a tweaked and instant version of the most traditional Batata Vada. These are almost instant snack which every kid will love. 

It can be made with the basic ingredients that are available in our kitchen. The best part is you can alter the stuffing according to your taste preferences. 

INGREDIENTS 

2 medium size potato
1 small onion chopped
1 green chilli chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt to taste

8 slice bread
Oil for coating

METHOD 

• Boil till tender and mash the potatoes until completely cooled. 
• Add all ingredients except oil and bread to the potatoes and mix well until combined. 
• Take a flat bowl and add some water to it, dip one bread slice into the water for 3 - 5 seconds. The bread should be wet but not soaking. 
• Take out the bread and gently squeeze the water out. 
• Take a heaped spoon full of the stuffing and place it in middle of the bread and fold the sides to make it into a ball. 

• Make the same with all the bread slices, meanwhile preheat the airfryer for 5 mins at 200 or preheat the oven at 200. 
• Smear some oil in the palms and roll the bread balls in hand before placing in the preheated airfryer. 
• Air fry the balls for 8 - 10 mins or until the outer is golden brown and crispy. For oven method bake the balls for 12-15 mins or until crispy and golden. 
• Serve hot with your favourite sauce.
