Sweet Potato Chapathi

Sweet potatoes are loaded with the natural fiber and antioxidants which give the super power to this vegetable even though it is high in carbs. The goodness in it outweighs that fact.
Do you know that there are 2 varieties of sweet potato and actually the white flesh sweet potatoes are yam family? I came to know about this like couole of years ago.

Today i have used the orange flesh sweet potatoes which gives the finished product a beautiful colour.

INGREDIENTS 

1 cup or 150 gms sweet potato
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp ghee 
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking the chapathi
Enough water to make dough

METHOD 

• Boil and peel the sweet potatoes. Make sure they are very soft. Let it cool completely. 
• Take the cooled sweet potato in a large mixing bowl and mash it well without lumps. 
• Add in all the ingredients except the oil and water. Mix well, add little by little water to make a soft dough. Smear the dough with few drops of oil. 
• Let the dough rest for atleast 30 mins.
• Heat the griddle in medium heat.
• Take a small ball of the dough and flatten it as you roll for chapathi.
• Place the flattened chapathi in the hot griddle and let it cook on one side, flip it and smear some ghee on both sides.
• Cook until the brown spots form on both sides.
• Remove from heat and serve hot.
