Jeera Pulao

Jeera pulao is a rice base dish that has so much flavour to it. The health benefits of cumin seeds are some extremely useful to maintain a good health. 
Usually there are different ways of making jeera pulao. Few add onions or ginger garlic and some add vegetables too but i prefer my jeera pulao to be filled with only jeera flavour. 

This is a very simple yet elegant dish that can be paired with a simple dal tadka or a spicy chicken curry, either way this jeera pulao is a very easy yet tasty dish that can be enjoyed. 

As always instant pot makes the cooking process so simole that you dont have to do anything. Just dump and out comes the beautiful jeera pulao. 
INGREDIENTS

1 cup rice
1¼ cup water
Salt to taste
1½ tbsp ghee
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp cumin seeds
3 green chilli (slit) 
15 curry leaves 

METHOD 

Wash the rice and drain it in a strainer. Set aside. 

Switch on the instant pot on saute mode. 
Once hot, Add the ghee and oil to the instant pot along with the cumin seeds. 

After they splutter add in the green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for a minute. 

Add in the drained rice to the pot and fry for a minute. 

Switch off the instant pot. Add salt to taste with water. 

Close the lid and pressure cook on high pressure for 8 minutes. 

Once the time is done let the pressure release naturally. 

Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. 

Enjoy hot with a dal tadka or curry of your choice.
