This Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp recipe is like your favorite restaurant style version but only healthier because it skips the heavy oil and deep frying method.
These Air Fryer Shrimp are covered in a crispy coconut breading and paired with a delicious Sweet Thai Chili dipping sauce. It’s the perfect appetizer recipe for your Air Fryer.
The airfryer is a boon to Anyone who has a love for fried seafood. For example, This coconut air fried shrimp has now been added to our favorites like many other airfried foods.
INGREDIENTS
BOWL 1
30 tiger prawns (40/50 size) BOWL 2
1 cup flour
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
BOWL 3
2 egg
BOWL 4
1 cup unsweetened dessicated coconut
½ cup bread crumbs
1 tbsp oil
METHOD
Keep the ingredients in seperate bowls according to the ingredients list mentioned above.
Peel the prawns, leaving the tail intact. De vein and dry them with a paper towl.
Holding the prawn by its tail, dip it in the dry flour and spice mixture in BOWL 2. Do not pack the flour, try to just dust the shrimp with the flour mixture.
Next is the BOWL 3 dip the flour coated shrimp into the egg mixture and make sure its coated all over.
Dip the same shrimp into the coconut and bread crumb mixture. Usuing your hands tightly press and pack the shrimp in this mixture so that the shrimp is completely covered witht the coconuty goodness.
Place this is a container. Do the same to all the shrimps. This process can be done well in advance.
Preheat the airfryer at 200°C for 5 minutes. Remove the basket and place 10 shrimps in the basket without overlapping. Spray with some oio on the top.
Place the basket back in to the airfryer and fry for 5 minutes.
Remove the basket, flip the shrimps carefully and again airfry for 4 minutes.
Remove and serve hot with your choice of sauce. Enjoy!!!
