Fish Fry

Homemade masala fish fry is scrumptious Indian dish made by shallow frying the fish. The fish slices are coated with spicy masala and then fried until crisp.
The non vegetarian dish is served as a side dish or a starter and is a favorite of many. Fish slices and thick masala is made with flavorful spices like chilli powder, coriander powder , curry leaves and more. 

This is a very simple yet tasty and flavourful marinade that makes this fish fry not only tasty but crispy too. You can relish it as side dish or starter with salad and dash of lemon. 

INGREDIENTS

1 kg fish slices of your choice 

Grind
3 onion
3 tomatoes 
1 handful curry leaves 
3 tbsp tamarind paste
1½ tbsp chilli powder 
1½ tbsp coriander powder 
1 tsp turmeric powder 
½ tbsp garam masala 
Salt to taste

Oil for shallow frying

METHOD 

Wash and clean the fish slices. Drain water and set aside. 

In a blender add the ingredients under Grind section and blend it into a paste. Do not add water. 

Smear and marinate the fish slices in the prepared masala paste and let it marinate for atleast 2 hours before frying. 

In a pan add some oil for shallow frying and fry on both sides until the outer is crispy and the fish slice is completely cooked. 

Remove from pan and serve it hot as a starter or side dish with some onion rings and lemon wedges.
