Mint Fish Fry

Mint fish fry is an awesome flavoured fish fry with the great refreshing flavours of the mint.
Me and teddy cooked this recipe with some much fun and the smell of mint was so appetising to me on the other hand teddy was tempted with all the fishy smell that was filling his nostrils.
Finally when the fish was done we both couldn't resist from taking a bite. The outer masala has a nice crispy texture to it due to the addition of rice and gram flour while the fish is so well cooked and infused with the flavours of mint.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 kg fish slices

Grind
1 large bunch mint
10-15 garlic cloves
1 small piece ginger
10-15 green chilli
½ tbsp cumin seeds
½ tbsp fennel seeds
1 large lemon juice
½ cup water

Mix
2 tbsp rice flour
4 tbsp gram flour
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
½ cup water

3-5 tbsp oil for frying

METHOD

In a blender jar add the Grind ingredients and blend it to a fine paste.

Transfer this mint paste to a bowl and add in the Mix ingredients to it. Mix it well until there is no more lumps left.

Check for salt and adjust.

Take a fish slice and rub the prepared masala generously to both the sides of the fish. Do the same to all fish slices.

Let this marinate for at least 2 hours before frying. If its marinated for longer than the flavours will build up better.

Take the oil in a pan on medium high heat and once hot add the fish slice and let it cook undisturbed for 5 minutes.

Flip and turn the slice gently and let it cook on the other side for 3-5 minutes without disturbing.

Finally add some curry leaves to the pan and switch off the heat and remove from the pn and place it in a paper towel.

Serve hot with onion rings and lemon wedges. Enjoy!!!
