Stuffed Chilli Bajji |Andra Style Mirapakaya Bajji

Today, am going to make a special andra dish stuffed chilli bajji. The speciality in this dish is the stuffing which has a combination of flavours and tastes. 
The stuffing I used contains sweetness from jaggery, sourness from the tamarind and the spiciness feom the chilli powder. When you take a bite your taste buds will be dancing in joy. 

Chilli bajji Stuffed version is one of the most popular evening teatime snack. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. To get started with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. Let get started.

INGREDIENTS

8 big bajji chilli
Oil for deep frying

Stuffing

½ big onions finely chopped
2 tbsp tamarind paste 
1 tbsp grated jaggery
1 tsp chilli powder 
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste

Batter

250 gms besan /gram flour
3 tbsp rice flour
1 tsp asafoetida 
1 tbsp chilli powder 
1 tbsp coriander powder 
1/8 tsp baking soda
Water as required 

METHOD 

First step in making this bajji is preparing the stuffing. 

Mix all the ingredients under Stuffing section ans set it aside. 

Now prepare the chillies by giving it a slit in the middle and removing most of the seeds without breaking the chilli. 

Do the same to all the chillies and now take a tbsp of the stuffing and rub it inside the chilli pocket. 

Do the same to all the chillies. 

Prepare the batter by combining all the ingredients under Batter section and add enough water to make a semi thick batter. Mix it well until no lumps are there. 

Do not add more water. If the batter is watery then it will not stick to the chilli. 

Heat the oil in a pan for deep frying. 

Once the oil i hot enough, dip the prepared chilli into the batter and make sure its covered on all the sides. Hold the stem of the chilli and let the excess batter drip a bit. 

Drop this chilli into the hot oil carefully. Let it cook on all sides evenly until its crispy and golden brown in color. 

Carefully drain the bajji from the oil and serve it hot.
