Paneer Burji is a delightfully spicy paneer dish that can be served as an accompaniment or side dish in Indian dishes and its simply irresistible. This Paneer dish has similar taste and texture and is prepared using crumbled or grated paneer with generous use of Indian curry spices, onion, tomato and capsicum.
This dish paired with a hot and soft phulka or roti of your choice will make a complete meal when accompanied with a lovely dessert.
INGREDIENTS
250 gms paneer, scramble or chop
2 capsicums, small cubes
1 tbsp oil
½ tbsp cumin seeds
1 onion chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2-3 green chilli
1 tsp garam masala
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tbsp chilli powder
½ tbsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp kasoori methi
METHOD
In a pan add the oil and temper with the cumin seeds, let it splutter.
Add in the onions and saute for a minute then add in the chopped chilli and ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell leaves then add in the tomatoes and saute for a minute.
Add the spice powders, garam masala, turmeric, chilli and coriander powder along with the salt to taste and saute until the tomatoes are mushy.
Add in the chopped capsicum and paneer to the pan along with ½ cup water and mix it well until everything is combined.
Cover and cook on a medium heat for 10 mins, stirring in between.
Open and add the crushed kasoori methi to the burji and give it a mix.
Serve it hot with some soft roti or phulka.
